Having a balcony is a fun way to create a small outdoor oasis, without having to mow the lawn!
Here are ways you can decorate your balcony while still having a lot of free space.
1. Hang Your Lighting
Instead of taking up space on your walls, hang your lighting or twist it around your balcony railing.
2. Hang Your Plants Too
Instead of having plants taking up ground space, hang them from a macramé holder or something that hangs on the wall.
3. Relax In A Hammock
If you think chairs take up too much space, hang a hammock. When you are not using it, it can easily be taken down.
4. L-Shaped Sofa/Loveseat
Get a small sofa or loveseat that fits the corner of your balcony instead of having a large one in the middle of your balcony.
5. Add An Outdoor Carpet
A carpet can make any room, inside and out, appear bigger than it really is. It also adds nice colour.
6. Small Planter Boxes
If you are a gardener or into growing fresh herbs on your balcony, have a planter box that you can grow a couple rows of seeds in instead of multiple pots.
7. Benches Instead Of Sofas
If you need extra storage space, get a bench that opens up instead of buying a bulky sofa.
8. Small Round Tables
Round tables often make a space look larger than a square one. It can also fit easily into a corner to use for eating, or as a coffee table.
9. Folding Chairs
If you are not into sofas, loveseats, or benches, buy folding chairs that can easily be moved out of the way when not in use. Reclining chairs often fold up to easily move out of the way, and are super comfy too!
10. Folding Tables
If you are not into round tables either, buy small square folding tables that can be used to eat on or as a coffee table. Store them in your bench perhaps when not in use!
There are lots of tips and techniques to decorate your small balcony and get the most out of the space you have to work with. Just have fun with it!
